Indonesian Invention and Innovation Promotion Association (INNOPA), conduct an International competition and exhibition namely International Young Inventors Award (IYIA) and World Invention Technology Expo (WINTEX) at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah Jakarta held on 9-12 October 2019.
INNOPA is the organizer of IYIA and WINTEX. It has been 6th times INNOPA holds IYIA and every year there always a great success. Participants, as young as elementary school-level students, exhibited 300 innovative works coming from more than 15 countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Macau, Phillipines, China, Japan, Korea, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, Poland, Croatia, Morocco, Canada, and United States.
There are differences in product highlights at every level, for elementary to high- school levels, the emphasis is on research, while for the university-level, the emphasis lay on the application of the work. The event could present the creativity among the youth from several countries in solving problems in their communities. There are several criteria that are considered by the judges, including the value of commercialization, ideas and patents.
IYIA and WINTEX 2019 is supported by the Ministry of Research and Technology Indonesia, Ministry of Education Indonesia, Ministry of Law and Human Rights Indonesia, Directorate General of Intellectual Property Indonesia, Badan Pengkajian dan Penerapan Teknologi, Badan Tenaga Nuklir Nasional, World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO), IGE IPI, Swiss Contact Foundation, International Federation of Inventors Association (IFIA), World Invention and Intellectual Property Association (WIIPA).
Four-days event INNOPA provide another interesting and beneficial activies for the inventors such as IP Academy by WIPO, Innovation Talk, Inspirational Stage, Cultural Show, and Cultural Tour. This is a great opportunity for talented young innovators or scientists to share creative ideas among one another and also provide an excellent exposure of invention and technological advancements in various sectors.
The IYIA and WINTEX also provide an excellent opportunity to tighten our relationship and give participants chances to explore a peaceful and friendly country in Wonderful Indonesia, especially Jakarta. In addition, Jakarta is the capital city of the Republic of Indonesia with a huge, sprawling metropolis, home to over 10 million people with diverse ethnic group background from all over Indonesia. Located on the northwest of Java Island, the province of Jakarta has rapidly expanded through the years, absorbing many villages in the process.
